About RON
Ron died unexpectedly June 13, 2019. The family invites all Ron's friends to celebrate his life with them Friday, June 28, 2019, 2:00 PM, at the Rosenberg Civic Center, 3825 Highway 36 South, Rosenberg, Texas 77471.
Born and raised in Oregon, Ron, aka “Ronny”, was adopted as an infant by Melvin “Mel” and Doreen Depuy. He was raised with his older sister Michelle, aka “Miki”, and older brother Christopher “Chris”.
Ron played baseball in Little League and all through school including Eagle Point High School.
In 2008 he followed his parents’ and sister Michelle’s move to Texas where he lived and worked on a ranch in Hempstead, Texas until moving to Beasley, Texas where he began work as Circulation Manager for the Fort Bend Herald and Texas Coaster.
In 2019 he began working for Keith Alley, owner of Cornerstone Glass & Mirror. Ron quickly learned the job and told all who would listen how much he was learning, how much he enjoyed working for Keith and working with all the guys on the team. He would go into great detail about different happenings that transpired at work, different jobs, how the glass was designed, made, cut, transported and installed.
Ron was respected, well-liked and appreciated by his community, neighbors and colleagues. Ron was smart, funny, hard-working and great with computers. He took good care of his parents and was always there when they needed an additional driver, a strong body, or tech support.
He was a mischievous toddler and as he grew he tormented his family with his fearless antics on tricycles, bicycles and motorcycles.
Ron's talents were many:
Rode bicycle at 4 years of age, without training wheels and...without using his hands.
An enthusiastic, passionate, zealous, Motorcyclist. Riding by age seven, quickly surpassing his brother Chris and his Dad shortly thereafter. Sometimes called daredevil, sometimes adventurous, occasionally audacious, courageous, always fearless.
Advanced Skills in computers, tools and technologies.
Avid Gamer.
An accomplished Alligator slayer.
Forest fire fighter in Oregon.
Race car driver...at years of age.
Dog Handler.
Left-handed baseball pitcher who should have gone pro…
Ron held his head up and was proud of who he was and his Depuy name. What mattered was/is that we, the Depuys, are a family...we are all different, not all of us match in height, coloring, features, body type and that, if anything, has made all the Depuys, and Ron, better and stronger.
Ron is survived by his parents, Mel and Doreen Depuy, sister Michelle (Depuy) Copeland and her husband Greg Copeland, brother Chris Depuy and his wife Jessica (Dutton) Depuy, grandmother Betty Depuy and aunts, uncles and cousins. Ron is predeceased by grandparents Arlie “Shorty” and Lena Richardson and grandfather Mel “Pa” Depuy.
The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help given by Greg Copeland, Keith and Linda and the Cornerstone team, and Dan Brown. No flowers please – Ron was not a flower kind-a-guy. If desired, friends may make memorial contributions in his name to the Movember Foundation -- the only charity tackling men’s health on a global scale, year round with one goal: to stop men dying too young. Your donation will help fund world-class programs that are saving and improving the lives of men. https://us.movember.com/donate
